Dear Van ROSTE, first of all, welcome to our country as Dexia. Can you talk about Dexia Group and your strategies related to Turkey?
Dexia, acting in 31 countries with Denizbank, with an asset of 515 billion Euro and about 33.000 employee, is a European bank established in 1996.

As Dexia, together with acting in all banking fields, there is two basic field that we focus on. First of these is public/project financing and credit development. We are the market leader of the world in the field of public financing. The second field is individual financing that develops rapidly all over the world.

Turkey is one of the rapidly growing markets of the world as regards to the development of individual and retail banking. As a result, we aim to be the leader of public and project financing in Turkey as in the world, create financing opportunities to local administrations, be active in the infrastructure and energy projects of public and local administrations, also have an active role in the markets of mortgage, private banking, asset management and other retail banking products which have a great development potential.
Dear Mr.Hüseyin, is it possible that you talk about this cooperation from your part?
Denizbank, after being established n 1997 from scratch, has become one of the most prestigious banks of our country in such a short period as 9 years.

We always have big ambitions and we have fulfilled all our goals up to now. We will carry this growth level to an upper level. We have found in the studies we have made together related with the development of Denizbank and future plan that our banking perspective, values and goals highly overlapping.

Turkish banks have not been interested in public and project financing so much up to now. What do you plan to do?
Recently, provision of long-term source with the international funding opportunities has accelarated the activities in this respect. Our interest in this field is not recent. We have established our Project Financing department in the beginning of 2005. Our department has provided a source of over 700 million USD for more than 20 projects.

As Denizbank, specialization in the niche sector is at the center of our marketing approach. Our basic niche fields are maritime business, tourism, health, energy, education, foreign contracting business and agriculture. Denizbank is one of the most important bank of maritime business.

It is necessary to examine the energy under a different heading. There are many projects for the energy matter. We negotiate with all the investors for these projects. We have allocated 200 million USD in such a short period. We also expect that the investments of the private sector in the field of health and education increases. One of the most important advantages of us is the expertise and experience of Dexia.
Wouter Van ROSTE- We are the leader in the field of Public Financing. Public Financing is very important issue in which expertise and experience is vital. We aim to have a voice in the financing of public investments in Turkey. We aim to take a share from all the investments in which the public may need financing such as infrastructure and superstructure investments, environmental investments, urban transformation projects, transport networks.

Dear Mr. Hüseyin, finally how do you evaluate the Turkish economy in 2007 in a macro level? Would you mind sharing your opinions about the increase in the interests and share of foreign bank in Turkish banking system?
Economists expect that growth rate will slow down in 2007. We expect that the inflation will decrease. Unfortunately, interests will remain high for some time. It is clear that share of foreign banks in the banking sector will exceed 40 %.
Wouter Van ROSTE- Firstly I must mention that the share of foreign banks in the banking sector has increased not only in Turkey but also in many countries. We are acting in 31 countries and the operation in Turkey is our most important operation apart from Belgium and France. Turkey is open to growth and there is too much competition in its market. We are sure that we will do many good jobs not only here, but also in this region.
